Unlimited riding fun: Rent an e-scooter with Grover
Do you often rent an e-scooter for single trips? How about renting the e-scooter on a monthly basis? Treat yourself to some extra independence during the summer months, free of packed public transport.
It's worth renting an e-scooter from Grover instead of paying for single trips each time:
- You get more for your money, especially if you travel regularly, you save a lot.
- You’re always ready to go. Forget the constant app checks or scooter searches, with your own e-scooter at your doorstep, you can simply ride whenever you feel like it.
- Experience the freedom of setting off when it suits you, without having to think about additional costs—this offers you a flexibility that you simply don't have with other e-scooter rentals.
- Skip the high purchase costs. An e-scooter can be quite expensive if you buy it up front. Long-term rental of an e-scooter, on the other hand, is not so cost-intensive. The longer your chosen subscription, the cheaper the monthly price—jackpot!
- Insured and always up to date: All Grover e-scooters arrive at your home with a license plate, insurance, and necessary technical updates. Unlike a purchase, you’re ready to roll, right away.
- When you buy an e-scooter, you also need to cover any repair costs—however, with Grover Care you can add extra damage protection.
Flexibly renting your e-scooter also has advantages over buying:
How does an e-scooter actually work?
E-scooters are compact, lightweight electric scooters that you stand on. You use the throttle and brakes to ensure the right speed. You can whizz around quickly on an e-scooter because the built-in battery supplies the electric motor with power. In Germany, the speed limit is 20 km/h—perfect for shorter distances around the city.
What regulations apply to e-scooters?
E-scooters are an uncomplicated and more sustainable means of transportation, which is why they fit so well with Grover. Grover offers you flexible and easy mobility for your everyday life with e-scooter rental.
There are still a few rules, but don’t worry—they’re quickly and easily summarized:
- In most countries, you must be at least 14 years old to ride an e-scooter. However, you don't need a driver's license.
- Liability insurance with an insurance sticker is mandatory. That said, if you rent your e-scooter from Grover, you no longer need to worry about this—it’s included with your rental!
- E-scooters can travel at speeds of up to 20 km/h, and you’re allowed to ride on the cycle path or road—however, sidewalks are taboo.
- The e-scooter must have lights, a bell, and two independent brakes.
- Don't drink and drive: When it comes to alcohol, the same rules apply as for car drivers (0.5 or 0.3 per mille limit). Caution: The zero blood alcohol limit applies to under 21-year-olds and new drivers in the probationary period.
Other recommendations for a flawless time scooting: Make sure you park your e-scooter so that it does not obstruct anyone. And while you're not legally obligated to wear a helmet, it is recommended. You can find rental helmets in the e-mobility accessories category at Grover.
